My Busy Week

Well, it has been kind of mad around here...cleaning, shopping, packing and all the rest! I am starting up my mosaics again and hope to be re-opening March so before I get started I wanted to do a really big clean out of all my bits and pieces and organize myself a little bit better. I have a new bench that was in my study but is now my work bench, a huge case full of all my lovely plates and well as two HUGE boxes of plates that will need to go...still very beautiful and lots of pink roses but I don't have that much room so if you are in Melbourne and would like to find out more about purchasing the boxes of china for mosaic projects contact me for more info. I have placed several mosaics and have them all ready and waiting to go for when I come back from my holiday so it is all very exciting!!!

I had a wonderful birthday with my family...Cane, Jake, my Mum and I went to watch Alvin & The Chipmunks during the day and it was soooo funny!!! I highly recommend it to all...they were so cute! And in the evening we had a get together with my Mother & Father in law & my Father & Jenny which turned out a lovely evening. Thankyou so much for all your birthday wishes, you all seemed to make my day so much more special so thankyou all! xo

On another note, we are heading off to Rosebud where we have a time share apartment at Nepean County Club. I think we all need a nice little break and we love getting up there during the summer season. There is always so much to do with all the festivals, beaches, as well as catching up with friends.

I took little Rosie for her vaccination today and also booked Rocky in to get fixed as well as micro chipped so there will be no puppies coming our way. I think there are too many puppies and not enough good homes for them! Some people do not realize that puppies do not stay cute and cuddly forever...they do grow up and also need allot of time to maintain. We love taking Rocky for walks everyday (Rosie will be joining in soon, just need to wait till she has one more vaccination before she hits the streets).

I found a great J&G Meakin jug and bowl set last week which I am yet to find a place for but I can tell you it is not leaving my home...that I am sure of!

I would like to thank Alison for the lovely award and pass it onto all my blog buddies as you all make my day so thankyou each and everyone of you! :)

Before I leave, I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on what mosaic pieces you would like to see me create next? I have some requests for photo frames & hand mirrors which I will get working on but the question is....what would you like to see?

Jardiniere of Roses

I hope everyone is enjoying the new year and all is going well...we have been busy planting lots of new roses in the backyard as well as celebrating lots of birthdays...January seems to be a very busy one for us! There was my dad's wife Jenny, my Mum, my nephew Jerome, mine this Friday, my hubby's and then my father in law...ALL IN JANUARY!!!

Last week I attended a few markets where I found lots of nice treasures...one being a huge English Jardiniere which I have wanted for so long but never found the right one! I was lucky enough to pick it up for $80 and it is in wonderful condition with no chips cracks or crazing so I think I done well.

I love the fact that I have two sides on the piece...one being lovely antique style roses and the other a pretty cottage with roses to each side. I was originally going to fill it with fresh roses every week but I thought it might get a bit much as I would need about 4 big bunches to fill it up nicely so today I went out and bought some lovely pink and cream silk roses instead. I am going to sit it on the middle of our kitchen table and enjoy it for a long time!
